First pictures of ISRO's Chandrayaan 2 released


The Indian Space Research Organization(ISRO) is gearing up to launch India's second lunar mission Chandrayaan-2 asper schedule in July. The ISRO on Wednesday shared the first pictures ofChandrayaan-2 the lander and orbiter at its Satellite Integration and Testingestablishment in Bengaluru.


The lunar mission isscheduled to launch during the window of 9 July to 16 July 16 with an expectedMoon landing on 6 September 2019. Chandrayaan 2 has 3 modules namely Orbiter,Lander (Vikram) and Rover (Pragyan). The Orbiter & Lander modules will beinterfaced mechanically and stacked together as an integrated module andaccommodated inside the GSLV MK-III launch vehicle while the Rover is housedinside the Lander.
